Fandango to Launch On-Demand Video Service

Customers can start buying and renting from FandangoNOW starting March 30

Fandango will launch its first on-demand video service on March 30, the NBCUniversal-owned company announced Wednesday.

FandangoNOW will provide customers with a massive library of new releases and catalog movies from all major studios, as well as next-day TV shows. Purchases and rentals will be available on a variety of OTT devices, including Roku, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices, and smart TVs from Samsung, LG and Vizio.

The launch comes after the online movie ticket retailer acquired M-GO, a digital video distribution platform, earlier this year.

“The launch of FandangoNOW is a huge milestone for the company, as we aim to deliver the best movie experience anytime and anywhere, across the total movie lifecycle,” said Fandango president Paul Yanover.  “We’re thrilled to launch FandangoNOW in time for 2016’s most anticipated in-home debuts, including recent blockbusters and Oscar contenders for which we sold millions of tickets during their theatrical release.”
