FilmNation is handling sales, and has made deals with five companies for several key territories across the globe.

eOne has purchased the film for the UK, Canada and Benelux countries – Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Sun Distribution has bought the film for Latin America, Nordisk for Scandinavia, Italia Film for the Middle East and Revolutionary Releasing for all of Eastern Europe save Russia.

Village Roadshow had already bought the film in Australia and New Zealand.

“We’ve had a great response from buyers so far,” FilmNation’s Glen Basner said in a statement. “David has emerged as an innovative filmmaker, generating much anticipation for his next film among both distributors and audiences worldwide.”

Michod wrote the script for ‘The Rover,” which is set in the near feature. Eric, played by Pearce, roves the Australian outback and after a brutal beating begins to track down a vicious gang with Rey, played by Pattinson.

Film Nation acquired most of the film’s worldwide sales rights at Cannes and is co-representing domestic rights with UTA.

Lava Bear Films’ David Linde and Porchlight Films’ Liz Watts will produce the film with Michod.

Watts produced Michod’s debut film, “Animal Kingdom,” the Australian gang drama that also featured Pearce. “Animal Kingdom” co-star Joel Edgerton conceived the story of "The Rover" with Michod.
