First ‘Daily Show With Trevor Noah’ Guest Kevin Hart Gives New Host a Welcome Present

“Ride Along” star discusses performing in front of stadium crowds and whether he’s still a “mitch”

Kevin Hart gave a warm welcome to Trevor Noah on the Comedy Central host’s first night of “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah,” along with some ties.

“Open it up, rip it up!” the “Ride Along” star commanded the more reserved host, setting the gift wrapped box in front of him.

Noah was gracious in accepting the gift of ties, though Hart gave him a good-natured ribbing for not being excited enough.

“I thought you’d be wearing a lot of suits, so you need some ties. I got you ties!” he said. “It’s a thoughtful gift, I thought it was real good. I expected a bigger reaction, whatever.”

The opening banter out of the way, Noah and Hart discussed everything the comedian is up to, including his new world comedy tour, which will see him travel to places like Noah’s birthplace, South Africa, and a stadium in Philadelphia, where he was the first comedian to sell out a 53,000 crowd.

Hart was also asked whether he’s still a “mitch,” a term described as a male version of a “bitch,” from his “Real Husbands of Hollywood” days.”The “Get Hard” star owned the term, though Noah pointed out he’s more of a “comedic rockstar” and genuine action star than a male bitch these days.

“The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
