First Trailer for ‘Lore’ Creeps Us Out With Vampires and Werewolves (Video)

Show premieres on Friday, Oct. 13 on Amazon

The first trailer for the popular horror and mythology podcast “Lore’s” television adaptation hit the internet Wednesday and somehow it manages to be creepier than its namesake.

The podcast, hosted by writer Aaron Mahnke, is a biweekly look into folklore and horror stories, often drawing upon legends and old tales to delve into the histories of certain myths that still plague us today, like vampires and werewolves.

“Throughout history, folklore has given a voice to our fears,” the dulcet tones of Mahnke say in the opening moments of the trailer.

While the first teaser showed a completely animated sequence, this new, full trailer highlights the dramatic, live-action reenactments that’ll form the core of the show. These segments will feature actors such as Robert Patrick (“Terminator 2: Judgment Day”), Kristin Bauer van Straten (“True Blood”), Adam Golberg (“Fargo”), Holland Roden (“Teen Wolf”), Colm Feore (“House of Cards”) and Campbell Scott (“The Amazing Spider-Man”).

Here’s a rundown of some of the creatures and myths that’ll haunt “Lore’s” six episodes: werewolves, vampires, changelings, possessed dolls and 19th century spirtualism.

The topics come from fan-favorite episodes of the podcast.

“Lore” premieres Friday, Oct. 13 on Amazon Prime. Watch the full trailer above.
