‘Flip or Flop’ Star Tarek El Moussa to Help With Hurricane Harvey Rebuild Efforts

Citizens of Houston, take heart; Tarek El Moussa is coming to your rescue.

“Flip or Flop” star El Moussa announced via his Instagram account on Wednesday that he’s heading to Houston, which was recently devastated by Hurricane Harvey, to pitch in with the rebuilding efforts.

“When bad things happen, it’s how you respond that matters. Houston, we’re coming to rebuild and make it better!” El Moussa wrote. “Join me and Habitat for Humanity in the rebuilding effort, Text HARVEYREBUILD TO 41444 #HurricaneHarvey #HabitatHammersBack we can do this!!!!!!”

The HGTV series features El Moussa and his estranged wife, Christina El Moussa, buying homes and renovating before attempting to “flip” them for a profit.

At least 70 people across 13 counties have died as the result of the storm, which made landfall in late August and caused flooding and destruction, according to NBC 5 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.

Numerous celebrities have pledged donations to relief efforts, while the one-hour “Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief” will air live for the east coast Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and Viacom’s CMT.

The special, which will be based in Los Angeles with stages in New York, Nasville and San Antonio, has scheduled George Clooney, Jamie Foxx, Karlie Kloss, Beyoncé, Matt Lauer, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Norah O’Donnell, Dennis Quaid, Julia Roberts, Kelly Rowland, Adam Sandler, Ryan Seacrest, Michael Strahan, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Barbra Streisand, Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon to participate.
