Former ‘Nashville’ Star Connie Britton on Why Shorter Seasons Add More Drama (Exclusive Video)

“When you’re doing 22 episodes a year, you’re literally churning out stories,” the actress tells TheWrap

Now that Connie Britton is done with “Nashville,” (spoiler alert: she departed the show earlier this year), she can catch up on all the TV shows she’s missed.

Britton told TheWrap that she has been “super, super busy” over the past few years with her career and family responsibilities and hasn’t had a lot of time to watch TV.

When asked if she prefers binge-watching her favorite shows or taking them on a slower, once-a-week basis, Britton laughed, saying: “I feel like I’m completely out of it when it comes to TV. It has changed so dramatically!”

Filming a dramatic and lengthy-seasoned show like “Nashville” poses many challenges beyond just missing your own must-see TV.

Britton told TheWrap that she actually prefers shorter seasons to lengthier ones. “I actually really believe that shorter seasons are a better way to tell a story, because you can go much deeper into story and let story breathe a little bit,” she said.

“Whereas, when you’re doing 22 episodes a year, you’re literally churning out stories,” the actress added.
