“Game of Thrones” fans are still mourning Hodor’s death, but the man who played him is getting the biggest send-off of any departing actor on the series yet.
On Instagram, Kristian Nairn posted a picture of a special cake made in the shape of the door Hodor infamously held open during his final moments on last Sunday’s episode.
While Bran Stark has become as bitterly hated as Ramsay Bolton by fans for getting Hodor killed, Nairn has no hard feelings toward Bran actor Isaac Hempstead Wright. “Even after all he’s done,” Nairn joked, “still willing to give him some of my cake.”
It’s an appropriate farewell for Nairn, considering his character loved food so much. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor said that his favorite utterance of “Hodor!” came in one of his final episodes when the character and Meera Reed were talking about sausages.
“This guy loves his sausages, clearly, and his bacon. His face lights up and starts talking about food,” he said. “I also enjoyed the one in season 3 with Osha. She’s complaining about having to build the camp and he did this ‘Why you telling me?’-type ‘Hodor.’ I can’t believe I can actually isolate two “Hodors” from all those times!”
