Could Jason Momoa be returning to “Game of Thrones?”
“Do you see this????????? Is he coming back?????? The suspense is killing me,” one of the 828 comments (so far) in the sea of speculation reads. “KHAL DROGO IS BACK?” asked another Instagram user.
Of course, there could be a much simpler explanation. Momoa has also posted several photos of himself and his family traveling throughout the country. He has also been in England filming “Justice League,” so it could just be a happy coincidence that he stopped off for a pint with Benioff and Weiss. But we fans can dream.
Momoa famously played Khal Drogo in the first season of the hit HBO series. Except for a brief appearance during a fantasy sequence in Season 2, he hasn’t been on the show since, yet his character remains a fan favorite due to his romantic relationship with Daenerys (Emilia Clarke).
He had appeared on “Baywatch” and “Stargate: Atlantis” prior to being cast as Drogo, but playing the Dothraki leader is what truly sent the actor into superstardom. He is set to play Aquaman in the upcoming “Justice League” movie, as well has his own standalone film as the aquatic superhero.
“Game of Thrones” Season 7 will air in summer 2017, with or without Momoa.
