“Game of Thrones” fans are demanding that President Barack Obama reveal details on a very sensitive national security matter — the fate of Jon Snow.
After series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss said the President got advanced copies of Season 6 episodes, fans of the show started a White House petition to get Obama to make with the spoilers.
“As we all know, winter is coming and Jon Snow may be our last hope to defend us against the White Walkers,” the petition reads. “It has come to our attention that President Obama has privileged information concerning the whereabouts of Jon Snow. All Americans deserve to know this information and thus we demand that President Obama divulge what he knows.”
As of right now, however, it doesn’t seem that too many people are eager to have the entire season ruined for them a week ahead of the premiere. At the time of this publishing, the petition has only 11 signatures of the 100,000 needed to draw a response from the White House.
According to the show’s creators Benioff and Weiss, Obama requested advance DVD copies of the season and they basically had no choice but to comply.
“When the commander in chief says, ‘I want to see advanced episodes,’ what are you gonna do?” Benioff said. Now we can only hope that Obama protects the plot details like he would something less important, like nuclear launch codes.
“Game of Thrones” Season 6 officially kicks off on April 24 on HBO.
