‘Game of Thrones’ Intro Gets the Super Mario Treatment (Video)

The land of Westeros is transformed into an 8-bit world

The iconic “Game of Thrones” intro has been re-imagined within the Super Mario world — and the result is wonderful.

YouTube user NicksplosionFX uses 8-bit Nintendo graphics and chiptune music to re-create the opener, which is so well done that it could get its own 10-episode order from HBO.

The old-school re-cut transforms the realm of Westeros into locations within the Mario universe; King’s Landing becomes Yoshi’s Island and Winterfell becomes Vanilla Fortress.

The icing on the cake is Yoshi with his long tongue heroically emblazoned on a sword.
