Get First Peek at Dave Chappelle Comedy Comeback: ‘Surprise, It’s Me’ (Video)

Trailer for stand-up icon’s first concert specials in more than a decade drops

He’s baaaaack.

Now avid Dave Chappelle fans have their first look at the comedian’s two hotly anticipated stand-up specials, premiering on Netflix. And, yeah, it’s been 12 whole years since people have seen him take the mic for a special — so this is long overdue.

After acknowledging he’s been gone a long while, Chappelle says, “Surprise, it’s me,” in the first trailer for the two specials that come from the comedian’s personal vault.

Topics range from ISIS to what kills black people (“regular a– table salt”) to a, presumably, imaginary conversation that took place between Chappelle and O.J. Simpson’s “soon-to-be slain wife.”

“If ISIS catches you, they’re going to cut your head off,” he says, adding, “Don’t like.”

Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin” was filmed at The Palladium in Los Angeles in March 2016, and “Dave Chappelle: Deep in the Heart of Texas,” was filmed at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, in April 2015.

Both specials, which were self-financed by Chappelle, will be available on Netflix on Tuesday, March 21.

They were directed by Stan Lathan.

And if you want to see him in real life: Chappelle is on the road now doing concert dates to prepare for a third Netflix special.
