Dark superhero project examines interpersonal relationships, celebrity of powerful sect

It’s a bona fide “Glee” reunion on the set of producer-turned-director Adi Shankar‘s “Gods and Secrets,” as McKinley High alums Mark Salling and Josh Sussman join a previously announced Max Alder in the film.

Salling was a core member of Ryan Murphy‘s musical Fox hit as Noah “Puck” Puckerman. Sussman was a later addition as school newspaper editor Jacob Ben Israel, as was Adler (an associate producer on “Gods and Secrets”) as closeted jock Dave Karofsky.

“Gods and Secrets,” co-directed by Shankar and Stewart Yost, explores the darker ramifications of a world filled with superheroes — for the people they protect and the famous bunch themselves. The genre project aims to put a fresh spin on iconic superhero tropes.

The cast also includes “Twilight” stars Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone, “You’re Next” heroine Sharni Vinson, comedian Andy Milonakis, WWE legend ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page and, as TheWrap first reportedee, Denise Richards and Jane Seymour.

The screenplay was written by Shawn Deloache (“New Adventures of Peter and Wendy”). Producers include Jenni Powell (“The Lizzie Bennet Diaries”) and Discourse Productions.
