Golden Globes: Michael Keaton Repeats ‘Hidden Fences’ Flub (Video)

Jenna Bush previously asked Pharrell Williams about non-existent film on red carpet

“Hidden Fences” is rapidly becoming the most talked about movie of the 2017 Golden Globes.

Michael Keaton, in giving out the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, accidentally referred to to the film “Hidden Figures” as “Hidden Fences,” combing the title of the former film and “Fences.”

Ironically, Viola Davis was also nominated in the same category for “Fences.” But Keaton did not say she was up for “Figures.”

Earlier in the evening on the red carpet, NBC News correspondent Jenna Bush made the same mistake when she asked Pharrell Williams about his nomination for “Hidden Fences.” Williams was in fact nominated for his work as a composer on “Hidden Figures.”

“Hidden Figures” is based on a true story and stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae. The actresses play three black mathemeticians who were instrumental in the early days of NASA and the U.S. space program.

Spencer was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, but lost to Davis who won for “Fences,” about a black couple in the 1950s trying to raise their son and come to terms with trauma from their past.

“Fences” stars Denzel Washington, who also directed the film.

Washington is also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama.
