Grammy nominee Sam Hunt is preparing to brave the cold next month when he headlines entertainment for the NHL Stadium Series outdoor game between the Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings.
The game will be played on the U.S. Air Force Academy Falcon Stadium football field in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The country music star’s performance is scheduled to take place during the first intermission and will be televised at 8 p.m. ET on NBC in the U.S. and on SN1 and TVAS2 in Canada.
Hunt recently released his latest single, “Kinfolks,” the followup to his triple-platinum-selling debut album, “Montevallo.”
NHL Network and NHL.com will provide extensive coverage live from the event leading up to and after the game. NHL Social will provide coverage on all social platforms via the official event hashtag NHL #StadiumSeries.
Hunt’s performance continues the commitment by the NHL to unite hockey with pop culture and entertainment.
The 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic outdoor matchup between the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators on Jan. 1 featured musical performances by Grammy Award-winning duo Dan + Shay, Texas band Midland and “The Voice” winner Jake Hoot.
“We have discovered so many from the worlds of music, television and film who love the NHL,” chief content officer and executive vice president Steve Mayer told TheWrap at the beginning of the season.
The league also recently launched a two-year, cross-platform marketing and promotional partnership with five-time Grammy Award-winning band Green Day, with their song “Fire, Ready, Aim” serving as the opening theme song for NBCSN’s “Wednesday Night Hockey” game broadcasts.
