Haley Joel Osment to Wake the Dead in New Frankenstein Film

Guns ‘n’ Roses guitarist Slash is producing “Wake the Dead” through his Slasher Films

Haley Joel Osment saw dead people. Now he's waking them.

The "Sixth Sense" star has signed on to play Victor Franklin, a medical student who brings the dead to life in "Wake the Dead," a new version of the Frankenstein tale, TheWrap has confirmed.

"Wake the Dead" is based on the Steve Niles graphic novel.

Scout Productions and Slasher Films — the Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash's company — are making the movie.

The movie — one of a number of Frankenstein projects now under way — is scheduled to begin shooting this fall. Osment, meanwhile, is starring in "Sassy Pants," an independent coming of age comedy with Ashley Rickards ("Kill Me Now," "Fly Away," "One Tree Hill"), Anna Gunn ("Red State," "Breaking Bad"), Jenny O’Hara ("Mystic River," "Devil") and Diedrich Bader ("Napoleon Dynamite," "The Drew Carey Show," "Outsourced").
