Haley Joel Osment saw dead people. Now he's waking them.
"Wake the Dead" is based on the Steve Niles graphic novel.
Scout Productions and Slasher Films — the Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Slash's company — are making the movie.
Slash is producing with his company's Michael Williams and Rob Eric. Jay Russell is directing James V. Hart's script.
The movie — one of a number of Frankenstein projects now under way — is scheduled to begin shooting this fall. Osment, meanwhile, is starring in "Sassy Pants," an independent coming of age comedy with Ashley Rickards ("Kill Me Now," "Fly Away," "One Tree Hill"), Anna Gunn ("Red State," "Breaking Bad"), Jenny O’Hara ("Mystic River," "Devil") and Diedrich Bader ("Napoleon Dynamite," "The Drew Carey Show," "Outsourced").
Osment was nominated for an Academy Award for the role of Cole Sear in "The Sixth Sense." He was 11 at the time.
He is repped by Paradigm's Joey Stanton.
