Halston Sage (“Neighbors”), Logan Miller (“Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse”), Kian Lawley (“Shovel Buddies”), Diego Boneta (“Rock of Ages”) and Elena Kampouris (“Men, Women & Children”) will join Zoey Deutch in Awesomeness Films’ upcoming feature “Before I Fall,” it was announced Tuesday.
Ry Russo-Young (“Nobody Walks”) will direct the film, which is based on Lauren Oliver’s bestselling novel of the same name.
“Before I Fall” follows Samantha Kingston (Deutch), a high school senior who has it all — the crush-worthy boyfriend, amazing best friends and gorgeous looks. February 12 is just another charmed day in Sam’s life until she is stuck reliving it during one inexplicable week. As Sam untangles the mystery, she discovers the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.
Brian Robbins and Matt Kaplan will produce for Awesomeness Films along with Jon Shestack (“Bring It On”). Production will begin in November, and Good Universe will be launching international sales at AFM. UTA packaged the project.
“Before I Fall” follows a string of successful features from Awesomeness Films including “Smosh: The Movie,” which opened as the No. 1 comedy on iTunes, and “Expelled,” which was a hit on social media. The studio’s next film release is the Tyler Oakley documentary “Snervous.”
Sage recently co-starred in “Paper Towns” and will soon be seen alongside Miller in “The Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.” Miller recently wrapped “A Dog’s Purpose” for DreamWorks and the found-footage thriller “The Waiting,” which co-stars Keir Gilchrist and James Caan.
Lawley is a comedic YouTube vlogger, Internet personality and actor who made his feature debut this summer in the indie thriller “The Chosen.” He’ll next be seen opposite Bella Thorne in Awesomeness Films’ “Shovel Buddies.”
