Australian broadcaster Hamish Macdonald is joining ABC News as an international affairs correspondent based in London.
Macdonald previously served as a senior foreign correspondent, anchor and executive producer of the public affairs show “The Truth Is” for Australia’s Ten Network. He has covered fighting in Afghanistan, the Georgia-Russia war and the Arab Spring in Egypt and Libya.

Hamish most recently interviewed Burmese human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi during her first ever visit to Australia.
A competitive ocean swimmer and avid skier, he will begin in New York before moving to the London bureau.
