“I’m gonna be a pilot, the best in the galaxy,” a young Han Solo says in the first full trailer for the eagerly awaited prequel “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”
The trailer, which dropped Monday after a teaser commercial aired during Sunday’s Super Bowl, stars Alden Ehrenreich as the younger version of the character Harrison Ford made famous in the original “Star Wars” movies.
This is not simply an extended version of yesterday’s Super Bowl spot — Disney has actually put out two separate teasers for the spinoff prequel in 12 hours time. Now that’s what you call fan service.
The trailer also provides glimpses of Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian and Woody Harrelson as Han’s mentor, Beckett. Glover’s Lando, understandably, has been the talk of Twitter since the first teaser appeared yesterday, and these additional looks in this teaser, including one shot of him flying the Millennium Falcon, will only keep that chatter going.
The film also stars Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke, Paul Bettany and Joonas Suotamo as a young Chewbacca.
Ron Howard took over as director for the film after Phil Lord and Chris Miller left the project over creative differences.
“Solo” hits theaters May 25. Watch the full trailer above.
