The writing team of Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan has been hired to adapt "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" for Summit Entertainment, TheWrap has confirmed.
The movie is based on John Gray's bestselling 1992 book about the differences between how men and women view the world.
In Elfont and Kaplan's hands, the book, which sold more than 50 million copies, will become a romantic comedy.
The two also are under consideration to direct the movie.
Their writing credits include "A Very Brady Sequel" (1996), "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas" (2000), "Surviving Christmas" (2004), "Made of Honor" (2008) and "Leap Year" (2010).
Their writing and directing credits include "Can't Hardly Wait" (1998) and "Josie and the Pussycats" (2001).
Lloyd Braun and Gail Berman, of Berman Braun Productions are producing.
