Here’s What Bruno Mars Sang That the Grammys Censored (Video)

Some lyrics from “Finesse Remix” weren’t CBS-friendly

If you noticed a brief pause in Bruno Mars’ and Cardi B’s performance of “Finesse” at the 2018 Gammy Awards Sunday night, it’s because some of the lyrics were too raunchy for network TV.

The song includes the line “Shut that s— down on sight/That’s right,” which was censored during the performance. The censoring began the lyric before, “Blame it on your measurements,” during the word “measurements.” But if you listen closely, it sounds like the sound guys might have jumped the gun and the line meant to be censored–“s—“–was left in.

Mars and Cardi B collaborated on the song from Mars’ album “24K Magic,” which was nominated for Best Album, up against Lorde’s “Melodrama,” “Awaken, My Love!” by Childish Gambino, Jay-Z’s “4:44,” and Kendrick Lamar, who won for “DAMN.”

A similar mess-up happened at the Golden Globes during Frances McDormand’s acceptance speech on NBC.
