Humans Realize Apes Have the Advantage in New ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Trailer (Video)

Humanity and apes are brought to the brink of war in the sequel to the 2011 reboot of the classic “Planet of the Apes” film series

In anticipation of its July 11th premiere, 20th Century Fox has unleashed a new 30-second spot for “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” This trailer spotlights the distinct advantage the apes may have over the humans in their battle for supremacy in a ravaged world.

“The scary thing about ’em,” an unidentified narrator says. “They don’t need power, lights, heat, nothing. That’s their advantage. That’s what makes them stronger.”

Humanity and apes tried living in harmony, but violence between them seemed inevitable. In fact, as Caesar says in the trailer, “War has begun.”

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” stars Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Judy Greer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Gary Oldman, and Andy Serkis. It was directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Scott Z. Burns, and Mark Bomback. Jaffa and Silver produced, along with Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark. A production of Chernin Entertainment and Dune Entertainment, 20th Century Fox will bring the film to theaters on Friday, July 11, 2014.
