The Motorola Turbo saves James Franco‘s life in a new commercial, after the actor falls from a ledge and plummets towards the ground. Using his Android phone though, Franco locates a soft spot to land – the dumpster behind a Chinese restaurant.
As impressive as that all sounds, it still didn’t make Franco into an Android user in real life. On Thursday morning, he posted pictures of himself with Marnie the Dog as the two snapped a selfie using an iPhone 6.
The Apple smartphone is in clear view in Franco’s right hand. (See the photo below.)
Franco isn’t the first person to promote a Droid product only to get caught using an iPhone later on. Ellen DeGeneres‘ record-breaking Oscar selfie was captured on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, Samsung being an official sponsor of the Academy Awards. But backstage, DeGeneres was posting pictures to her personal Twitter account with her iPhone.
Alicia Keys had a similar snafu when she tweeted using an iPhone despite being an officially spokesperson for Blackberry.
