James Gandolfini and Tom Hardy Pack Powerful Punch in Trailer for Late Actor’s Final Film (Video)

The “Sopranos” star plays an ex-con trying to do the right thing in gritty drama “The Drop”

A new international trailer for “The Drop,” the final film of the late James Gandolfini, has landed.

Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace co-star in the R-rated crime drama, which is an adaptation by Dennis LeHane (“Shutter Island”) of his short story “Animal Rescue.” Michael R. Roskam directs.

Gandolfini plays an ex-con trying to square his life away who, along with his cousin (Hardy), finds himself in trouble with gangsters after a bar robbery.

Fox Searchlight is distributing the Cherin Entertainment production, which will be released in North America in the fall.

Gandolfini died on June 19 last year.
