Jamie Dornan takes his upcoming role as Christian Grey very seriously.  The actor, who stars as the titular character in the hotly-anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James publishing phenomenon, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” admitted to visiting a sex dungeon as part of his preparation for the film.

“I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did … whatever it was they were into,” he told Elle UK. “I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives.”

According to Elle UK, Dornan witnessed “plenty of kink” and plenty of laughter. And apparently, Dornan even pushed the participants in the “kink” for more.

“I was like, ‘Come on guys, I know I’m not paying for this but I am expecting a show,’” he said.

Dornan called the experience “interesting,” but said that there was one thing he had to do before he felt ready to see his wife and newborn baby back at home.

“I had a long shower before touching either of them,” he said.

Dornan’s full interview will be published in the February issue of Elle UK.

Jamie Dornan stars opposite Dakota Johnson in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” The film was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel. E.L. James produced the film alongside Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca. Universal Pictures will release it to theaters on Friday, Feb. 13.
