‘Jayne Mansfield’s Car’ Trailer: Egos, Families and Cars

Billy Bob Thornton digs at family strife and cultural differences in his latest directorial outing, "Jayne Mansfield's Car"

"Jayne Mansfield's Car" boasts top-notch talent: Robert Duvall, Billy Bob Thornton, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon and Frances O'Connor — just to name the award winners and nominees in the lineup. 

But the 1960s-set film, directed and co-written by Thornton, amounts to more than the sum of its all-star cast: it tells an honest story about cultural and familial disparities.  

Specifcally, the Alabama-based Caldwell family must meet with the British Bedfords to reclaim the body of their deceased mother. Thus ensues a culture clash, a lot of head-butting and, as suggested, a cameo appearance by the late actress' ride.
