‘The View’s’ Whoopi Goldberg on Donald Trump: ‘If You’re Not Mexican, He’s Very Entertaining’

Co-host Joy Behar mocks Jeb Bush: “Even comedians are bored with him”

She may not agree with him, but Whoopi Goldberg certainly understands why presidential candidate Donald Trump is so popular.

Responding on Wednesday’s episode of “The View” to fellow co-host Joy Behar‘s case for how entertaining Trump is, Goldberg said, “If you’re not Mexican, he’s very entertaining.”

The remark came amid a conversation about Trump’s GOP rival Jeb Bush, whom Behar reasoned should have gone harder on big brother George W. Bush during his guest spot last night on Stephen Colbert‘s “Late Show” debut.

When asked by Colbert for at least one way in which he disagrees with big brother’s presidency, Bush said, “I think my brother probably didn’t control the Republican Congress’ spending … he should have brought the hammer down on the Republicans when they were spending way too much, because our brand is limited government.”

That admission wasn’t enough for Behar, who wanted Jeb, for example, to bash the invasion of Iraq: “That would be brave and that would show people that he really has more of a personality than Trump said he doesn’t have.”

Earlier in the segment, Behar made an argument for why Bush has been eclipsed by Trump so far: “The problem with this guy is even comedians are bored with him … the brother at least gave you something.”
