Jennifer Lawrence harshly scolded a reporter for being on his phone while he asked questions about her Golden Globes win for “Joy” backstage at the awards show on Sunday night.
“You can’t live your whole life behind your phone, bro,” said Lawrence to the reporter in question. “You can’t do that. You’ve got to live in the now.”
However, the exchange only got more heated from there.
“How do you see yourself for the Oscar night, and how…” the reporter asked before Lawrence cut him off.
“We’re at the Golden Globes,” she responded. “If you put your phone down, you’d know that.”
Lawrence has been facing critique for her statements, many claiming that the reporter wasn’t a native English speaker who was using his phone to translate the questions. Some fans on Twitter called her “rude” and “ignorant” for humiliating the journalist.
However, some Twitter users who were present at the Q&A refuted the criticism. Chris Trondsen, a host on Pacific Rim Video, wrote, “He was taking pictures & video of Jennifer Lawrence while asking his questions & I even found it distracting.”

I really like Jennifer Lawrence but what she said to that reporter was so rude and not at all funny. Why're people even laughing at the back

I find Jennifer Lawrence to be rude. Her calling the reporter out for using his phone was not cool. He may have been looking at notes, J-Law
