ICM Partners has announced that Rob Prinz, the former head of music/personal appearances at UTA, has joined the agency’s Los Angeles office as a partner. Concerts agent Nikki Wheeler is also joining ICM.
Prinz has been named co-head of worldwide concerts, a title he shares with Steve Levine.
Veteran agents Prinz and Wheeler bring with them a roster of talent that includes Jerry Seinfeld, Celine Dion, Rick Springfield, John Hiatt, Daryl Hall & John Oates and Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, as well as many other contemporary music performers and comedians.
“Nikki and I are extremely excited to be joining Steve, Mark and the entire ICM Partners team. Steve and I have been friends for years, and the chance to work alongside him and the concerts group’s extraordinary artists in music and comedy is energizing,” said Prinz.
“I am incredibly proud to bring in Rob as a partner,” said Levine. “His leadership, senior relationships in the industry, and diverse list of iconic clients are a perfect fit for us. We’ve been enjoying a tremendous period of growth in our touring business, and I’m thrilled to have Rob and Nikki on board to keep that momentum going.”
“Rob is one of the most respected and admired members of the music and comedy communities. With Rob, Steve and Mark Siegel at the helm of our concerts group, we are well positioned not only to continue to build our touring business but also to develop and mentor the next generation of its leaders,” ICM’s board said in a joint statement. “We are pleased to welcome both Rob and Nikki to the agency.”
Prinz began his career at the William Morris Agency in New York, where he was credited with discovering Madonna. He continued his career in music, working at both CAA and UTA, and has worked with legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand and Bon Jovi.
Wheeler began her career at CAA 18 years ago. In addition to representing music and comedy talent, she has orchestrated music initiatives for corporate clients including Amazon and American Eagle Outfitters.
ICM Partners’ concerts department represents artists in musical genres including pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop and adult contemporary and is a leader in the world of comedy. The department is responsible for orchestrating spectacular tours and performances including Beyoncé’s 2014 Super Bowl half-time show in New Orleans and her top-selling world tour, Kendrick Lamar’s show-stopping collaboration at the 2014 Grammy Awards and Chris Rock’s last sold-out global tour, which encompassed more than 140 shows in eight countries.
