Jessica Chastain and Joel Edgerton have signed on to star in two related movies for Myriad Pictures, the company said Thursday.
"The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" is the story of a New York restaurant owner and his wife, who goes back to college.
But writer-director Ned Benson is telling it in two, feature-length movies — one from the husband's perspective, one from the wife's.

For now, Myriad is calling the movies "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His" and "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers."
"We have to make both films work on their own, both for the buyers but also for the audiences" Kirk D'Amico, the CEO of Myriad Pictures, said in a statement. "Together these films will describe a fully, more complete look at these characters and their lives."
Chastain, nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "The Help," and Edgerton will also star in Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming movie about the Navy SEALs who found and killed the terrorist Osama bin Laden.
William Hurt is in negotiations to join the cast, as well.
Cassandra Kulukundis ("A Late Quartet," "In Defiance of Gravity") is producing and casting.
