Jimmy Fallon Invites Tennessee Teen to ‘Tonight Show’ After Twitter Campaign

The late-night host asks one of his biggest fans to shadow him for a day in response to #AndrewShadowJimmy

Jimmy Fallon is making one young fan’s wish come true.

“The Tonight Show” host posted a video Monday on YouTube of himself and executive producer Gavin Purcell calling Franklin, Tennessee, high school student Andrew Kochamba and inviting him to New York to job-shadow Fallon for a school project.

The VIP invitation came in response to Kochamba’s Twitter campaign, which he launched last week with using the hashtag #AndrewShadowJimmy.

“Oh my god,” Kochamba said in the video as Fallon introduces himself over the phone. “We’re gonna send you to New York on Wednesday, buddy,” Fallon told him. “I’d be honored if you’d be my shadow.”

Kochamba’s initial tweet has drawn more than 1,000 retweets, and prompted hundreds of tweets using the hashtag he launched. A video in which the teen made his case to shadow Fallon has been viewed more than 4,000 times .

“My hobbies include making people laugh, listening to Justin Timberlake, using hashtags and lip-synching,” Kochamba said. “There is no one I would rather shadow than ‘Tonight Show’ legend Jimmy Fallon.”
