Jimmy Fallon to Debut New Brian Williams Rap Mashup on ‘Tonight Show’ (Video)

The host reveals that he will continue the popular video series during “NBC Nightly News” interview on Monday

Jimmy Fallon dropped by “NBC Nightly News” for one of his last interviews before officially debuting as the new host of NBC’s “Tonight Show” on Monday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The interview will air Monday night and apparently Fallon had a big announcement for the program’s anchor, Brian Williams.

Fallon created videos of Williams rapping – spliced together from the anchor’s own words during news broadcasts. The videos, as you would expect, were very popular and went viral.

We have another one coming up for opening week of ‘Tonight Show’ that we’re saving,” Fallon told Williams, who asked if it would feature him again.

Fallon assured him, “Who else would we do it with?”

The flattered journalist said that his social team still sees people who are just discovering the rap mashup videos every day.

“It’s opened up a new sub-genre of fans,” Williams said. “People think I have something to do with it.”

Fallon also explains how the videos came to be and Williams explains the origin of his “steel ice look.”
