Jon Jashni has been promoted to president of Legendary Entertainment, the production and financing company announced Tuesday.
He will also continue to hold is current title of chief creative officer and will continue to report directly to Legendary's chairman and CEO, Thomas Tull.

Burbank, CA, September 20, 2011 – Legendary Entertainment has appointed Jon Jashni to the newly created role of President of Legendary Entertainment. In addition to his new role, Jashni will continue to serve as Legendary’s Chief Creative Officer and, as prior to the promotion, report directly to Legendary’s Chairman and CEO, Thomas Tull.
“As a trusted and exemplary member of Legendary’s executive team for almost six years, we have every confidence that Jon will excel in this new leadership role,” said Tull.
In addition to continuing to manage Legendary Pictures’ film-related creative development and production activities, Jashni will augment his involvement with additional development, business affairs and physical production activities for Legendary Pictures, Legendary Television and, in some capacity, Legendary Comics. He will also work more closely, under Tull, with the company’s strategic planning and brand marketing teams on the company's integrated growth strategy. Separately, Jashni will join the Board of Legendary East, a standalone entertainment company formed by Tull in June of this year. That company is based in Beijing and Hong Kong and is charged with creating content for a global marketplace.

Jashni holds a twenty-five year proven track record delivering high-quality, commercial entertainment to global audiences. Prior to Legendary, Jashni was President of Hyde Park Entertainment, a production and financing company, and served as a senior production executive at 20th Century Fox. Earlier in his career, Jashni headed Giant Pictures and worked at Columbia Pictures. He holds an undergraduate degree from USC and a MBA from UCLA.
For Legendary, Jashni has executive-produced such successful films as THE HANGOVER, CLASH OF THE TITANS and THE TOWN. He is currently a producer on the company’s productions of PACIFIC RIM, PARADISE LOST and SEVENTH SON, each of which will be distributed by Warner Bros.
