Josh Gad, who recently played Lefou in “Beauty and the Beast,” is paying his respects to the fallen British officer in the London attack on Parliament on Wednesday.

The officer was identified as Keith Palmer, 48, a member of Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command who served for 15 years before his death. He leaves behind a wife and children.

Gad had met Palmer when he was filming in the British capital city last year and took to Instagram to recall the officer’s kindness.

The actor wrote that the officer was “unbelievably kind and generous to us when we went to visit a few months ago,” adding that “I am sick with grief for all of the families today but particularly stricken knowing that somebody who was so personally kind to me and my friend could be murdered in such a senseless manner.”

Officer Palmer was one of three people who died in the attack.

Around 40 more were injured when the attacker, identified Thursday as Khalid Masood, rammed a car into crowds of pedestrians on London’s Westminster Bridge.

The British-born 52-year-old then stabbed Officer Palmer outside of the Parliament building. He was later shot to death by guards.

ISIS has since taken responsibility for the attack.
