Jill Goldfarb, the former vice president of programming for the Discovery Channel, has joined Jukin Media as its first-ever vice president of linear programming.

She will lead programming, acquisitions, scheduling and content strategy for Jukin’s linear content initiatives.

Over the past several years, Jukin has increased its focus on distributing its content via linear channels. In October, the digital media outlet signed a deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group to take over day-to-day operations of the company’s TBD Network, which reaches more than 78 million U.S. homes. The company has also launched digital linear channels for its Pet Collective and Fail Army brands, which garner 64 minutes average watch time and 90 million minutes watched per month on streaming platforms.

“As we’ve progressed and linear programming has proven to be a massive opportunity for Jukin, we knew finding a seasoned executive to help take our efforts to the next level would be key,” said Cameron Saless, chief growth officer of Jukin Media. “Jill has a proven track record as a programmer and we’re thrilled she’ll be here to help us consistently deliver engaging programming to our rapidly growing audiences on linear.”

Prior to working at The Discovery Channel, Goldfarb served as VP of program planning and scheduling at FOX and ABC Family.

“Jukin has made tremendous inroads into linear on the backs of these truly dynamic media brands,” Goldfarb said. “It feels like the sky’s the limit for where we can take them.”

Goldfarb will report to Saless.
