Jon Chu, whose director's cut of the Justin Bieber documentary "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," opened for a one-week run Friday, is moving into the action genre.
TheWrap confirmed that Chu, who directed the Bieber movie, is slated to direct a "G.I. Joe" sequel and is currently in negotiations with Paramount.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing.
It had been widely reported that Chu and F. Gary Gray were the studio's top choices for the job.
