Someone should have told Gisele Bundchen it’s almost impossible to keep up with a Kardashian — or a Jenner, for that matter.
The native Brazilian, who has been raking in the dough as the world’s highest-earning model since 2002, was dethroned by 22-year-old Kendall Jenner, who snagged the top spot on Forbes‘ Highest-Paid Models 2017 list on Tuesday. The second-to-youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family pulled in $22 million in the 12 months between June 2016 and June 2017.
Jenner boasts an impressive 85 million followers on Instagram, a number that helped her reach that whopping income from advertising deals with brands like Estée Lauder, La Perla and Adidas.
The total earnings were a career-best for Jenner, who also cashes checks from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and the Kendall + Kylie clothing line she shares with little sister, Kylie Jenner. Add to that more social media endorsements than siblings and Jenner makes the top spot, easily.
Bundchen still came in at No. 2 on the list, with an impressive $17.5 million. This year, the 37-year-old wife of Tom Brady posed for Carolina Herrera fragrance, Arezzo shoes and Brazilian company Vivara jewelry. However, she didn’t work as much as she did last year, which accounts for the 43 percent dip from her 2016 total of $30.5 million.
Fans on Twitter are split on whether Jenner should have had the audacity to dethrone Bundchen, or if it was high-time someone else wore the crown.
