‘House of Cards’ Star Kevin Spacey Reveals Who He’s Talking to When Breaking Fourth Wall (Video)

“Now it all starts to make sense, doesn’t it?” actor who plays President Frank Underwood tells Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show”

Kevin Spacey addressed one of the long-standing mysteries on the Netflix series “House of Cards” during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Wednesday.

Colbert asked Spacey who Frank Underwood thinks he is speaking to when he speaks directly into the camera on the show. And Spacey’s response was just perfect.

“This is the truth,” Spacey said. “From the very beginning, when I’m looking directly into that camera, I’m talking to one person and one person only: Donald Trump. Now it all starts to make sense, doesn’t it?”

Colbert also asked Spacey if he ever thinks that what happens on “House of Cards” is too over the top to happen in real life.

“There have been times where I’ll leave the set, and I’ll think, ‘Man, this is really pushing it,’” Spacey said. “Then I get back to the hotel and I turn on the news.”
