Kong is King in the latest trailer for “Kong: Skull Island.”
The film follows a team of scientists and soldiers — which includes Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Samuel L. Jackson — as they trek to the titular island to discover whether the myths and legends that surround it are true.
But they learn all too quickly that some places are best left unexplored when Kong appears and proceeds to tear through all of their modern weaponry.
“Skull Island” is a joint project of Warner Bros. and Thomas Tull’s Legendary Entertainment, recently acquired by China’s Dalian Wanda Group.
The movie, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, marks the first post-Oscar project for Larson to hit theaters. The star is also currently filming an adaptation of writer Jeannette Walls’ memoir “The Glass Castle.” The “Kong” cast also includes Toby Kebbell, John C. Reilly, John Goodman and Thomas Mann.
“Kong: Skull Island” will premiere in theaters on March 10.
