Lady Gaga — Amy Winehouse Didn’t Need to Learn Any Lessons (Video)

“Telephone” singer says that the world should have been nicer to deceased “Rehab” songstress

Many people might look at Amy Winehouse's life and see a good number of teachable moments that might have prevented the singer's recent death at the age of 27.

Not Lady Gaga.

The "You and I" singer dropped in at "The View" for a guest-hosting gig on Monday and held court on numerous topics, including Winehouse's passing in late July. The way Gaga sees it, Winehouse didn't have a problem — it was the rest of the world that needed to wise up.

“I just think the most unfortunate thing is the way the media spins things, like ‘Oh we can learn from Amy’s death.’ I don’t feel that Amy needed to learn any lessons," Gaga offered. "I felt that the lesson was for the world to be kinder to the superstar. Everyone was so hard on her.”

The "Alejandro" songstress also noted that, when she learned of Winehouse's death, "I really couldn't speak for 48 hours."

Maybe that's not such a bad thing?
