Lady Gaga invited her “A Star Is Born” director and leading man Bradley Cooper to join her onstage Saturday during her residency performance at Park MGM in Las Vegas, where they surprised fans in attendance with a duet of her Oscar-nominated song, “Shallow.”
“So, a really good friend of mine…I don’t know if you know him but his name is Bradley. He made that movie, um, ‘A Star Is Born,'” Gaga told the screaming crowd at the Park Theater. “So I’m gonna be a little chance-y. Yo Bradley, you wanna come up and do this one with me?”
The audience went berserk as Cooper stood in the audience and made his way to the stage, where Gaga greeted him with a lengthy bear hug.
Cooper had a bit of a problem with his in-ear monitor but quickly slipped back into his Jackson Maine persona to play the song that makes Ally an overnight star in the acclaimed film.
“A Star Is Born” has been nominated for seven Oscars, ranking fourth among all films. Lady Gaga’s breakthrough performance earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination, and her show-stopping song “Shallow” is considered the frontrunner to win Best Original Song. Cooper also earned a pair of Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Best Actor.
