We could all certainly use a hero right about now, but Larry David sure isn’t it.
The first trailer for the upcoming ninth episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” has made its way onto the web, and if the footage is any indication, the only thing David is interested in saving is his energy.
In the trailer, the camera scans dreary evidence of a society in decline as a voice gravely intones, “There is one hero that never stays silent. Who fights against injustice wherever he finds it. And the world needs him now more than ever.”
Unfortunately, Larry David is not taking that call. Literally.
As a spotlight throws a bat-signal like light into the night sky, David, reading the paper in bed, sees his own image glowing against the clouds, and promptly declines the call to action.
Forget “Na na na na na na na na Batman”; clearly David’s theme song consists of one big, weary “Nah.”
The new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” premieres on HBO on Oct. 1. In the meantime, watch the trailer below.
