Liam Neeson Is a Hit Man Fighting to Keep His Son Alive in ‘Run All Night’ Trailer (Video)

Joel Kinnaman plays the estranged son who reluctantly must fight alongside his father if he hopes to survive the contract placed on his life

Liam Neeson is no stranger to playing tough guys on the big screen, and in his latest film he gets to do it with his son. Not his real son, but Joel Kinnaman as his estranged son who suddenly becomes the target of a mob hit. And it looks like it’s all Neeson’s fault in the full trailer for “Run All Night.”

Once feared as The Gravedigger, Neeson was a hit man of some renown with a good friend in a local mob boss played by Ed Harris. Things go south when Harris’ son dies at Neeson’s hands, and the reasons behind it don’t seem to matter. Blood calls for blood and old friendships are torn asunder.

Having long abandoned his own family for his life of crime, Neeson is forcibly reconnected with his son if only to try and save him from Harris’ wrath. What follows is one long night of running — hence the title — shooting, fighting and the kind of father-son bonding no one wants to experience.

“Run All Night” looks like classic action-Neeson, with Kinnaman holding his own when it comes to glowering and growling out his lines. The two tall actors may not look much like one another, but their demeanors and performances make the connection believable nevertheless.

“Run All Night” also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Boyd Holbrook, Common, Holt McCallany and Genesis Rodriguez. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay by Brad Ingelsby, the film was produced by Roy Lee, Michael Tadross and Brooklyn Weaver. Warner Bros. Pictures will release the film to theaters on Friday, April 17, 2015.
