Lionsgate Moves ‘Safe’ Release to March 2

Boaz Yakin’s thriller, which stars Jason Stratham, had been set for an Oct. 28 release

It won't be a "Safe" Halloween.

Lionsgate has switched the release of Boaz Yakin's thriller "Safe" from Oct. 28 to March 2.

Moving the film's release date puts some time between it and the release of star Jason Stratham's "Killer Elite," which Open Road is releasing on Sept. 23.

The movie stars Stratham as a former commando who protects an adolescent girl from bad guys.

Catherine Chan, James Hong, Reggie Lee and Robert John Burke also star.

On March 2, "Safe" will compete with Universal's "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax,," Paramount's "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" and the Warner Bros. comedy "Project X," which are all opening the same day.
