Christina Hendricks to Heat Up Ryan Gosling’s Car in ‘Drive’

The buxom “Mad Men” star will join Carey Mulligan and Bryan Cranston in Nicolas Winding Refn’s action thriller

Buxom "Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks is set to join Oscar nominees Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan in Nicolas Winding Refn's indie action thriller "Drive," Hendricks' publicist has confirmed to TheWrap.

Hossein Amini has adapted James Sallis' crime novel, which follows a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver in L.A.'s criminal underworld. After agreeing to help the ex-con boyfriend of his beautiful neighbor (Mulligan) on a dangerous job that goes wrong, the driver finds himself a target. The only way he can stay alive is to put the pedal to the metal.

While it's unclear what role Hendricks will play, her fellow AMC brethren Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") will play Gosling's mentor. Albert Brooks is set to play a bad-ass gangster from New York, and Oscar Isaac ("Robin Hood") has also joined the cast in an unspecified role.

The film will be co-financed and co-produced by Bold Films and OddLot Entertainment.

Marc Platt is producing through his company Marc Platt Prods. along with OddLot's Gigi Pritzker, Bold's Michael Litvak and Adam Siegel.

OddLot's Bill Lischak and Linda McDonough will exec produce with Bold's David Lancaster and Gary Michael Walters.

Production is scheduled to begin later this month in L.A.

Hendricks will soon be seen alongside Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel in "Life As We Know It." She's also set to star in "Leonie" with Emily Mortimer and "Detachment" with Adrien Brody, James Caan and Lucy Liu.

Hendricks is represented by the Kohner Agency, and her casting was first reported by Variety.
