Madonna, Jimmy Fallon and the Roots Perform ‘Holiday’ With Classroom Instruments (Video)

The “Rebel Heart” singer has a serious flashback when she plays one of her early hits on Thursday’s “Tonight Show”

Madonna is no stranger to throwback performances, but her “Tonight Show” appearance on Thursday went all the back to her school days.

The “Rebel Heart” singer joined Jimmy Fallon and The Roots to put a retro twist on her 1983 hit “Holiday” with classroom instruments.

Madonna wore her signature ’80s outfit of leather bracelets, fishnets tights and lots of gold, while Fallon went island style in a Hawaiian shirt and day-glo sunglasses.

A keyboard, rainbow-colored glockenspiel, a whistle (expertly blown by Madonna) drums and a plastic banana all give the classic song a great new sound as the group gets its groove on.

Madonna‘s latest album “Rebel Heart” is available now for purchase or download at iTunes.

“The Tonight Show” airs at 11.30 p.m. on NBC.
