Man Crashes Truck Into Dallas Fox Station Building, Begins ‘Ranting’ About ‘High Treason’ (Video)

Suspect has been taken into custody and transported to the hospital, local police tells TheWrap

A man who crashed his pickup truck into the Fox4 building in Dallas has been taken into custody, the Dallas Police Department tells TheWrap.

The yet-to-be-named suspect was transported to the hospital for minor injuries that he sustained, we’re told. Fox4 reports that the man, who “intentionally” slammed his truck into the building twice at around 6 a.m. local time, will be brought up on criminal mischief charges.

There were no reported injuries beyond those suffered by the suspect himself. The station building had been evacuated, though employees are now being let back in following a police sweep.

After crashing into the side of the news station, which has floor-to-ceiling windows on its street level, the man jumped out of his truck and started “ranting,” per the station. He was “yelling ‘high treason,’” Fox 4 News reporter Brandon Todd said on Twitter.

The suspect left behind a bunch of scattered documents and a “suspicious bag.” The bomb squad was brought to the scene and appears to have cleared it. The papers left behind were mostly “rambling” flyers, per the station.

A police spokesperson told the local station’s “Good Day” that the suspect was “upset over some sort of officer-involved shooting,” according to Fox 4 News reporter Blake Hanson. They say he did not appear to be “targeting media,” however.

Here is some more information directly from the local Fox4 station and its reporters:
