Maria Bello is set to star in David E. Kelley’s Amazon drama series ‘Trial.’
The “Prime Suspect” actress will star opposite Billy Bob Thornton in the legal drama co-written by “The Practice” creator and his partner Jonathan Shapiro.
“Trial” follows Thornton as Billy McBride, a washed-up lawyer whose professional life is turned upside down when a young lawyer who has just been fired from his old firm brings him a wrongful death case that pits him against the head of his former firm.
Bello will play Billy’s ex-wife Julie, a successful co-founding partner at a law firm who holds her ex-husband in some contempt for allowing him to de-rail his life.
The pilot is being directed by David Semel, who is also executive producing with Kelley and Shapiro.
