Marvel Reveals Full ‘Agent Carter’ Scene, Sets Stage for ABC Miniseries (Video)

Dominic Cooper’s Howard Stark and James D’Arcy’s Edwin Jarvis feature in clip that reveals the threat at the heart of the 8-episode series

Dominic Cooper‘s Howard Stark doesn’t stick around long in the extended clip Marvel revealed for its upcoming “Agent Carter” series. The clip debuted as part of the company’s ABC special “Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop!”

Hayley Atwell reprises the role she established in the first “Captain America” film, as does Cooper, for this sequel series set in 1946. But it looks like Cooper is mainly being used to establish the direction of this eight-part miniseries before handing off the main adventure to Atwell and his butler, James D’Arcy‘s Edwin Jarvis.

The scene is mainly about Jarvis and Carter seeing Stark off. He indicates he’s headed overseas to check in on some of his “babies.” It’s his formula for molecular nitroamine, which he claims is capable of massive destruction.

Jarvis underplays his own usefulness in a playful scene with Carter before she declares it’s time to go to work. And to make sure viewers know that this is still a kick-butt action Marvel series, the clip closes with a shot of Carter’s “work,” which involves lots of fists flying and a bad guy crashing through a window.

Marvel’s “Agent Carter” premieres in January 2015, filling in the space between two halves of the second season of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
