How Post-Charlie Rose ‘CBS This Morning’ Covered Matt Lauer’s Firing (Video)

“Today” show competitor is still reeling from last week’s in-house sexual misconduct scandal

Matt Lauer was fired from NBC News this morning following a “detailed complaint” from a colleague about “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.” His now-former home of the “Today” show lead with the story, and competitors “GMA” and “CBS This Morning” jumped on it early Wednesday as well.

“I worked at NBC many years, and I know that Savannah [Guthrie] is grappling with this and it’s difficult for them as well,” anchor Norah O’Donnell said on the CBS show.

“I have a sickening feeling of déjà vu,” her CBS News co-host Gayle King added, referencing their own ex-colleague Charlie Rose, who was let go last week after sexual misconduct accusations against the lifelong newsman became public.

“I take no joy in this,” King continued. “None of us do at this table.”
