Despite Hollywood’s reputation as a bastion of liberalism, former “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” star Melissa Joan Hart says that there are a growing number of Republicans in Tinseltown — so much so that she says she’s “pretty much surrounded” by GOP-philes these days.

In an interview with Fox to promote her new book “Melissa Explains All,” Hart said that, when she revealed that she voted for Republican presidential candiate Bob Dole during her “Sabrina” stint, “there were some jaws dropping on the set that day.”

These days, however, Hart — who currently stars in the ABC Family series “Melissa & Joey” — says, “I find more [Republicans] in Hollywood,” adding, “These days I’m pretty much surrounded by Republicans at work.”

While saying that the increase of Republicans in Hollywood has made life “a little easier” for her, the actress eschewed hardcore partisanship in the Fox interview, and in fact lamented the restrictions of a two-party system.

“I love having a healthy debate with anyone. Nobody’s one way or the other,” Hart said. “I feel that unfortunately in this country there are only two parties. I wish there were more because nobody fits into one or the other.”
